Have You Heard of the World Music Day?

Enjoy a night, or nights, of awesome fun, in various places, with various people.

Plan a great night this June 17, 23 and 24 for Fête De La Musique 2017, the largest music festival there is in the entire country.

I know you will definitely be interested to come because this event is open to all. Oh. Yes. Right. THIS. IS. FREE.

Fête De La Musique, also known as World Music Day, started in France as an annual event where music of different genres takes over many parts of the city for people to enjoy.

It has also reached other countries such as the United States, Australia, Italy, Brazil, and Japan where it has been popular among their artists and the crowds.

Through the cooperation of the Alliance Française de Manille, the Embassy of France in the Philippines, the Tourism Promotions Board of the Philippines, and various music productions, local government units and private entities, Fête De La Musique made it to the Philippines where it has garnered a great reception and participation from Filipino music enthusiasts.

Proud to say that we are a part of an enormous international event?

This year, the event is even bigger. The festival will be a gathering of a hundred artists in different stages, each catering to a specific genre.

There are five main stages all over the Philippines: the Makati stages at A-Venue Mall Parking Lot and Greenbelt 3 Park (June 17), the Intramuros stage at Puerta Real Gardens (June 23), the Palawan stage at Cory Park Provincial Capitol Complex, Puerto Princesa City (June 24), and the Baguio City stage at Malcolm Square (June 24).

There are also over 30 pocket stages in different cities where both mainstream and amateur artists will be playing their music to give you performances you will surely love and never forget.

Simultaneous concerts will take place across these venues where a unique kind of music is offered by each.

Rock, jazz, hiphop, electronic, RnB, indie, reggae, acoustic, OPM, pop – just name your genre, and Fête has it.

The event is a great way to discover new music and meet new people. Many bands, singers, DJs and musicians of different styles will come to showcase and share their love for the music and arts to music lovers who are as diverse as they are.

Fête is a once in a year event, so plan ahead, visit as many stages as you can, and enjoy every fleeting moment the night has to offer.

Have yourself surrounded by good music and good company.

You will not ask for more (Don’t give me those hugot lines.)
