The Philippines’ Leading Open Water Swimmer

Have you heard about the Pinoy Aquaman?

Some of his top achievements include the 18.5 km swim between Cebu and Bohol and conquering the rough seas of the Babuyan Channel.

He is also the first Filipino to have swam from Alcatraz to mainland San Francisco.

The 41 year old lawyer from Tubigon, Bohol, used to be a triathlete, but decided to focus on swimming after sustaining injuries.

He has completed 33 open water swims to date mostly in the Philippines and the USA.

The longest swim he’s done was 11 hours and 21 minutes from Dumaguete to Siquijor.

During his swims, he can stop for a minute or so to drink but he can’t hold on to any floating device.

He swims to promote his lifelong advocacy of clean seas and beaches.

His latest challenge is to become the first Filipino to swim the 33km stretch of the English Channel between France and England.

Bad weather ruined his latest attempt but he will try again until he realizes his dream.

Now what is your dream? Make it come true.

Meet Atty. Ingemar Macarine in this very interesting video from History.
