A nursing home in the US recreated a 1940s neighborhood for their patients.
In The Know Innovation takes you to Ohio where The Lantern is located. It is a group of three assisted living communities helping make the elderly feel right at home. Patients with Dementia, Alzheimer’s, and similar conditions are brought here.
Recreating the mini town included lights that stimulate a sunny day and a starry night sky, soundtracks of birds chirping, and “grass” floors. Doctors claim these small touches have a therapeutic effect and slow the progression of Alzheimer’s disease.
“My mother is able to carry out meaningful conversations,” Betty says. “Her attention is better, memory seems to be better.”
When can we have one like this in the Philippines?
This nursing home has a special way to make their residents with dementia feel comfortable 👵❣️
