The State of Colorado in the U.S. is known for its deep canyons.

National Geographic Travels takes you to three spots that you shouldn’t miss when you visit Colorado.

1. Horseshoe Bend

This dramatic curve of the Colorado River is a popular stop along the highway north of the Grand Canyon. The place has a viewing platform with a guard trail and an accessible trail.

2. Glen Canyon Dam

It created the vast reservoir of Lake Powell. Considered the second largest man-made reservoir in the U.S., 2 million people visit it every year.

3. Antelope Canyon

It has two segments – The Crack and The Corkscrew. They are the most photographed of the slot canyon landscapes in the southwest. As light shifts, the colors in the sinuous channels change. The sandstone’s flowing shapes were carved from flashfloods.
