UNIVERSAL HEALTH CARE LAW TO HELP POOR, SAVE LIVES – CASTELO

Even without an ID one can already avail of primary health care services. Membership is now automatic.

Quezon City 2nd District Rep. Winnie Castelo said that under the Universal Health Care Law, Filipinos will be automatically enrolled in the proposed National Health Insurance Program (NHIP), allowing everybody to avail of preventive, promotive, curative, rehabilitative, and palliative care for medical, dental, mental, and emergency health services.

Castelo who welcomed the signing of the law by President Rodrigo Duterte added that the Universal Health Care (UHC) law, to be implemented by the Philippine Health Insurance Corporation (PhilHealth), also aims to expand the PhilHealth coverage to include free consultation tests and other diagnostic services.

“This will prevent illnesses and diseases from getting worse or, even better, from being detected earlier, thereby saving lives.”

“This will help our people, especially the poor. This will prevent illnesses and diseases from getting worse or, even better, from being detected earlier, thereby saving lives,” said Castelo who is running for Councilor in 2019, a post he previously held four times, from 1995-2001 and from 2004-2010.

“For the first time in the history of our country, a universal health care program is in place. Nobody is exempted. Everybody is qualified,” added Castelo.
