MMDA OFFERS MASTER’S DEGREE SCHOLARSHIP FOR EMPLOYEES – LIM

The Metropolitan Manila Development Authority (MMDA) is offering a free higher education scholarship program to its qualified employees.

MMDA Chairman Danilo Lim said the free scholarship program, in partnership with Wesleyan College of Manila in consortium with Cavite State University, is aimed to develop public servants of the agency by investing in professional development program for them.

“This is the first time that a scholarship program to pursue master’s degree is offered to employees.”

The MMDA represented by the traffic chief and Wesleyan College of Manila represented by president Dr. Florita Miranda signed a memorandum of agreement for the offering of Master of Professional Studies Major in Public Administration for the qualified employees of the agency.

In order to qualify for the program, employees with permanent or casual status of appointment should have rendered at least two years of continuous service with the agency; at least a Bachelor’s Degree holder; below 58 years old; must have at least a Very Satisfactory performance ratings for two years rating period for permanent and four years rating for casual of his/her position; must have no pending administrative or criminal case; with salary grade 15 to 22; and willing to sign a scholarship service contract for two years.

Applicants will have to undergo a screening and selection process based on set criteria. At least 30 slots will be offered for the first batch, the MMDA said.
