If you are a Samsung user, you’d better get to know more about Pranav Mistry.

Pranav grew-up in India and became a tech giant after he introduced Galaxy Gear to the world.

Galaxy Gear is the first commercially available smart watch.

“In 9th grade, I took out all the parts of a scooter, understood their functions and removed the defects,” Pranav tells Born Realist.

He then developed an interest in artificial intelligence and wearable tech gadgets while studying at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT).

By studying how motion is read by a mouse, Pranav was able to make a gesture reading device.

“I was trying to bring a part of the physical world, to the digital world,” Pranav says.

Apart from the Samsung Galaxy Gear, he is also best known for his work on SixthSense, a gesture-based wearable computer system. It became the invention of the year in 2009.

Pranav has been given numerous awards in honor of the work he has done including the World Economic Forum’s Young Global Leader in 2013.

From a small town in India, this young man has made a mark in the world.
