At age 92, Johanna Quaas from Germany is the world’s oldest gymnast as of 2018.
She was born with great passion for Gymnastics. According to Born Realist, Johanna’s dream was to become the best gymnast in the world. To achieve her dream, she started practicing at a very young age. She worked hard, even sacrificing the best days of her life. She finally started seeing results after taking part in various competitions.
But along the way, she fell in love and got pregnant. Her husband was very understanding.
“Choose our child or your dream. I would support you, no matter what you choose,” he told her.
She chose the child and they had a healthy baby. She made the same choices years later. They have three children.
Years rolled by and when she turned 72, her husband asked “Do you still want to become a gymnast?”
She answered “Yes!”
Johanna’s husband became her coach. Since then, she had won more than 11 medals.
Johanna tells Born Realist, “Age isn’t how old you are but how old you feel.”
