KA-NEGOSYO: “RAMDAM KO ANG PAGMAMAHAL NI FLEX”

Flex Fuel PH, through a ka-negosyo, Maribel Garcia, supported DepEd’s Brigada Eskwela 2021, with the theme, “Bayanihan Para Sa Paaralan”. With challenges brought by the pandemic, public schools need all the support they can get. Especially to be able to transition back to face-to-face classes. Moreso, with the additional supplies required for the prevention of the spread of the virus.

Ms. Garcia, who was also one of the teachers at Francisco G. Perez Memorial National High School in San Pascual, Batangas, was the one who introduced Flex Fuel to the program.

“Sadyang ramdam ko ang pagmamahal ni Flex. Sa dami ng aking business na pinasok, si Flex ang yumakap sa amin. Si Flex ang hindi kami pinabayaan… Si Flex ang nagturo sa amin paano lumaban sa buhay, maging masigasig, laging positibo, at laging tumulong sa kapwa.”

In a Facebook post, Flex Fuel noted the importance of education and good health to both students and teachers. They offered support through the donation of health supplies to the school. These supplies included face masks, face shields, alcohol, among others.

What is Brigada Eskwela?

A national voluntary effort was initially created in 2003 called Brigada Eskwela or School Brigade. It is also referred to as the National Schools Maintenance Week. It is a DepEd (Department of Education) program that aims to strengthen partnerships within local communities to alleviate shortage of resources. Thousands of community members work voluntarily to rehabilitate classrooms, maintenance and clean up of the primary and secondary education schools.

In a video, the Brigada Eskwela coordinator for Francisco G. Perez Memorial National High School extends his thanks to the Flex Fuel PH. Especially for their help and support during this pandemic. He expressed surprise and awe in being chosen as a beneficiary of the supplies despite being located away from the city.

In the same post, Flex Fuel commented that they hope the current situation with COVID-19 will not be a hindrance to teachers in delivering quality education to their students, and to the students’ successes.

“Nawa’y ang ating kasalukuyang sitwasyon ay hindi maging hadlang sa paghahatid ng edukasyon ng ating mga guro at sa tagumpay ng ating mga kabataan.”
