Brothers Divyank and Bhavin Turakhia started with almost nothing.
Now, they are one of the youngest self-made billionaires in India.
They didn’t have a computer at home so the brothers would stay late at school to use the computer in the library. Oftentimes, they would miss the school bus going home.
“We were very interested in coding from a very young age,” Divyank tells Born Realist.
While in college, Bhavin realized his university couldn’t teach him anything he didn’t know about computers.
But instead of dropping out from school, he and Turakhia took a $500 loan from their father to start a company focused on creating domain names.
The company did quite well but the brothers wanted to do more than that.
The brothers came up with Media.net, an advertising network for Yahoo and challenged Google’s Adsense.
In a tech world dominated by Google, it seemed impossible that other companies can thrive. But Media.net did!
It became the second largest contextual ad network in the world.
“We wanted to create something that would shake things up and take the world by storm,” Divyank recalls.
The brothers got what they wanted.
It doesn't matter where you came from; All that matters is where you're going
