Tacos have been shaping the culinary landscape of Texas. From being a snack, it has become a dessert.
We both have hospitality backgrounds, so we enjoy food,” one of the owners of Taco Sweets, a food truck, tells Dessert Insider. “We love eating food, so being able to play around with colors and toppings is a lot of fun for us. I know it’s a lot of fun for our customers, too.”
The food truck is located in Austin, Texas.
Served as a dessert, the taco shells are instead made of fresh waffles. Customers get to pick the ice cream flavors and the fun toppings that go with the shells.
“We saw them on Instagram, and it was so appealing that we wanted to try it,” explains one customer. “Yeah, it looked pretty crazy. Tastes like delicious unicorn dessert. Really sweet, and I love Fruity Pebbles. Really fruity, but really rich at the same time. But in a good way.”
A lady customer adds, “only in Texas is the dessert also in the form of a taco.”
