2 TOP EX-NPA REBELS IN BOHOL TAKE ALLEGIANCE OATH

Two former members of the Communist Party of the Philippines-New People’s Army-National Democratic Front (CPP-NPA-NDF) formally took their oath of allegiance to the government, marking their complete renunciation of the communist movement and its ideology.

Former National Democratic Front (NDF) consultant and ex-secretary of the Negros, Cebu, Bohol, Siquijor (NCBS) regional party committee of the New People’s Army (NPA), Roy Erecre, formally surrendered to the government.

Erecre, along with his partner Judith Jaron, took their oath before Bohol Governor Aris Aumentado, marking their complete renunciation of the armed struggle.

Aumentado welcomed the couple’s decision.

“The provincial government is committed to assisting former rebels in rebuilding their lives through the Local Amnesty Program,” the governor stressed.

“We are grateful for the support of the National Amnesty Commission with the DILG.”

The couple are both residents of Tagbilaran City.

They chose to take their oath of allegiance before Aumentado at the Provincial Capitol.
