THE PHILIPPINES SHOULD WORK TO GET INDIA’S HIGH-END TOURISTS – GORDON

With the recent visit to the country of India’s President Ram Nath Kovind, Senator Dick Gordon has proposed that the Philippines should work to get India’s high-end tourists.

“With the Indian president visiting the country, the Philippines should get the high-end tourists of India. This is a good time for us to get them,” Gordon said.

“India has the second largest population in the world.”

The veteran legislator also pointed out that India, which has the second largest population in the world, is rising as a country, hence the government should make sure that the Philippines gets more investments from the Indian president’s visit.

“The government has to make sure that we can get some more business from the state visit.”

“India is rising as a country. It has the second biggest population in the world. The government really has to make sure that we can get some more business from the state visit,” the seasoned lawmaker said.

Kovind was in the country for a state visit that coincides with the 70th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between the Philippines and India.

Kovind and President Rodrigo Duterte held a bilateral meeting to discuss areas of mutual interest, including political, economic, cultural, and people-to-people engagement.

Kovind also met with the members of the Indian community in the Philippines and the Filipino beneficiaries of the Mahaveer Philippine Foundation, an organization that helps give amputees the Jaipur Foot. The Jaipur Foot is a rubber-based prosthetic leg designed and developed by Indian sculptor Ram Chander Sharma.

Kovind is the 3rd Indian president to make a state visit to the Philippines since the establishment of diplomatic relations between the two countries in 1949.
