DPWH COMPLETES 2 NEW BRIDGES IN AGUSAN DEL SUR

Two newly-completed parallel bridges built by the Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) now facilitate better mobility and connectivity in the province of Agusan del Sur.

Constructed along Daang Maharlika (Agusan-Davao Section), the 189-lineal meter Andanan Bridge in Bayugan City and the 125-lineal meter Gibong Bridge located in the municipality of Prosperidad provide wider developmental growth and increase efficiency in the delivery of basic services along the area.

“Both projects were completed earlier than the target date despite challenges due to COVID-19 restrictions and unfavorable weather conditions.”

DPWH Secretary Roger Mercado lauded DPWH Regional Office 13 headed by Director Pol delos Santos and Assistant Director Abdulfatak Pandapatan for completing both projects earlier than the target date despite challenges due to COVID-19 restrictions and unfavorable weather conditions.

“The two permanent bridges provide a much wider perspective on inter-regional connections that will help maintain a continuous flow of traffic even with the increased volume of vehicles passing through the Agusan-Davao section of Daang Maharlika,” Mercado stressed.

Meanwhile, DPWH Regional Office 13 has programmed for immediate funding the completion of approaches of the two bridges.
