Senator Bong Go achieved a historic electoral feat in the 2025 midterm elections, topping the senatorial race in 44 provinces and earning over 27 million votes nationwide–the highest ever received by a senatorial candidate in Philippine history.
Go’s consistent number-one ranking across geographically and culturally diverse regions–from Tawi-Tawi in the south to Batanes in the north–underscored the depth of support and trust placed in his pro-people brand of public service.
“Pinagpapala talaga ang nagpapakumbaba.”
“God is good. God is fair.
Political observers note that the lawmaker’s success defied regional, ethnic, and economic boundaries. The senator consistently placed in the top three in nearly all regions of Luzon and the Visayas. He was ranked number one in areas representing Indigenous Peoples, Muslim Filipinos, and far-flung island provinces.
Go added expressing his gratitude to those who made his run possible.
His strongest performances came from Mindanao, where he secured 9 million votes, led by the Davao Region and the Bangsamoro Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao (BARMM), where he ranked first.
Go also topped the race in the geographically remote provinces of Batanes, as well as Kalinga and Ifugao in the North, Tawi-Tawi and whole of Mindanao in the South, Puerto Princesa City in the west, and Northern and Western Samar in the east including Leyte and Tacloban City, to name a few, showing the extent of his public service that reached the grassroots.
He is known for spearheading key legislative measures aimed at expanding access to healthcare, including the Malasakit Centers Act that he principally sponsored and authored which institutionalized one-stop shops for medical assistance for indigent Filipinos.
Go is also the principal sponsor and one of the authors of the Regional Specialty Centers Act to bring specialized care in every region. He also pushed for sufficient funding for Super Health Centers to be established in communities nationwide to bring basic health services closer to the grassroots.
Go said who remains focused on improving healthcare access, job creation and food security.
Go who is known as Mr. Malasakit for his compassionate service to Filipinos in need.
