More than 60 incoming college students who are recipients of the Provincial Government’s Accelerating the Mission of Learning and Inclusive Growth (AMLIG) Scholarship Program, signed a Memorandum of Agreement with Negros Occidental Governor Bong Lacson recently.
The AMLIG Scholarship Program is a joint initiative between the Provincial Government of Negros Occidental and National University (NU) Bacolod that offers full financial assistance to qualified students enrolled at NU Bacolod, taking up Bachelor of Science in Accounting, Psychology, Tourism Management, or Computer Science.
Under the program, scholars are entitled to 100% free tuition and other school fees.

Present during the ceremonial signing were Board Member Rita Gatuslao, Chair of the Sangguniang Panlalawigan Committee on Education; Board Member Paula Alonso, Provincial Administrator Atty. Rayfrando Diaz; Negros Occidental Scholarship Program Head Karen Dinsay; NU Bacolod Executive/Academic Director Ryan Joy Dizon, and NU Administrative Director Marie Sharon Perez, among others.
Lacson expressed his gratitude to National University Bacolod for its partnership in advancing accessible and quality education for Negrense youth.

He also acknowledged the vital role of parents and guardians in supporting the scholars and urged the students to maximize the opportunity given to them.
“Study hard, stay true to your values, serve with purpose, and be the reason another young Negrense believes in their dreams,” Lacson stressed in his message to the scholars.
