Senator Alan Peter Cayetano called for prayer, urging unity and compassion for nations embroiled in conflict.
In his August 8 and 9 vlog ‘CIA 365 with Kuya Alan,’ Cayetano emphasized the urgent need for peace in Israel and Palestine, praying for an end to suffering and hostilities.
“Ang turo ni Lord, mahalin natin ng kapwa katulad ng pagmamahal niya sa atin.”
“Ang turo ni Lord, mahalin natin ng kapwa katulad ng pagmamahal niya sa atin. So there’s no conflict in praying for Israel but also praying for the Palestinians. Let’s pray na mawala ‘yung suffering at matigil ang gera,” the veteran legislator said.
Additionally, on the August 9 vlog, the seasoned lawmaker highlighted the ongoing crisis in Europe, between Ukraine and Russia.
The senator recounted meeting with Russia leaders when he served as Foreign Secretary from 2017 to 2018 in an official visit to the country.
“Marami po akong kaibigan sa Russia, maging ‘yung mga Pinoy na nandoon at foreign minister nila. I had the privilege of meeting (Foreign) Minister (Sergey) Lavrov many times. I had the privilege of meeting President Putin,” he said.
On Ukraine, Cayetano reflected on a visit to the country 17 years ago, underscoring the deep human cost of war.
“May Pinoy sa bawat sulok ng mundo.”
“Nakapasyal na rin po ako sa Ukraine, way back 2008 or 2009, na parang iisa pa lang ata o ilan pa lang ang Pinoy na nandoon. Yes, may Pinoy sa bawat sulok ng mundo,” he said.
Cayetano encouraged his online community to join people worldwide in prayer for reconciliation, understanding, and lasting peace.
“Let’s pray because prayer moves mountains,” he concluded.
