Department of Tourism (DOT) Secretary Christina Garcia Frasco led the Handog ng Pangulo: Serbisyong Tapat Para sa Lahat in Cebu, marking the second year of the nationwide caravan that simultaneously distributes Presidential assistance across the country.
On behalf of President Ferdinand Marcos, Jr., Frasco spearheaded the Cebu leg of the Caravan at the Cebu Provincial Capitol, which brought the frontline programs and services of various national government agencies closer to the people.
“Government service should not only be felt in Manila, but must truly be experienced in every province, every city, every town, every barangay, every community, and every family.”
“Ang Presidente kanunay nga nagpahinumdum nga ang serbisyo sa gobyerno dili lang angay mabatian didto sa Manila, apan kinahanglan nga mabati gayud sa matag probinsya, matag lungsod, matag baryo, matag barangay, matag komunidad ug matag pamilya (The President constantly reminds us that government service should not only be felt in Manila, but must truly be experienced in every province, every city, every town, every barangay, every community, and every family),” the tourism chief said.
In underscoring this vision, the tourism head conveyed the President’s gratitude to the Cebuanos, highlighting that the Handog ng Pangulo Caravan is both a token of appreciation and a concrete expression of his commitment to bring national government services closer to the people.
“This service is not just for some, but for all Cebuanos.”
“Karong adlawa, isip pasalamat ug handog sa atung Presidente diha kaninyo atong mga pinalangang Sugbuanon, pasalamat sa inyong serbisyo sa atung nasud ug pasalamat sa inyong sakripisyo alang sa inyong mga komunidad ug pamilya, atong gidala ang Handog ng Pangulo, Serbisyong Sapat para sa lahat. Ang serbisyo sa national nga pang goberno atong gidala dinhi mismo sa Cebu aron mapaduol sa katawhan ang mga tambal ug konsultasyon, edukasyon ug scholarship, panginabuhian ug trabaho ug kini ang mga serbisyo, dili lamang anay sa pipila, kundi alang sa tanan na sugboanon (Today, as a gesture of gratitude and an offering from our President to you, our beloved Cebuanos-thank you for your service to our nation and for your sacrifices for your communities and families-we bring to you the ‘Handog ng Pangulo: Serbisyong Sapat para sa Lahat.’ We are bringing the services of the national government right here to Cebu to bring medicine and consultation, education and scholarship, livelihood, and work closer to the people. This service is not just for some, but for all Cebuanos),” she explained.
“Ang tinuod nga kalig-on sa nasud makita sa panaghiusa sa katawhan. Ug pinaagi sa panaghiusa, mas lig-on ang atong kaugmaon. Busa magtinabangay kita tanan alang sa atong nasud(The true strength of a nation is found in the unity of its people. And through unity, our future becomes stronger. Therefore, let us all work together for our country),” Frasco added.
One of the highlights was the ceremonial distribution of various government services and aid to Cebuano beneficiaries, led by Frasco together with Cebu Governor Pamela Baricuatro-represented by Provincial Administrator Ace Durano-along with Regional Directors of various line agencies.
The activity underscored the Marcos administration’s commitment to deliver direct, tangible, and people-centered support. Through the caravan, Filipino families gain access to financial assistance, livelihood and business support, employment facilitation, educational opportunities, and affordable goods through the Kadiwa ng Pangulo program.
Also present were Food Terminal Incorporated (FTI) President and CEO Joseph Rudolph Lo; DOT Assistant Secretary Ronald Conopio; DOT Region VII Director Judy Dela Cruz Gabato; Cebu local government officials, and program beneficiaries.
