The University of the Philippines Men’s Basketball Team (UPMBT) is set to enter UAAP Season 88 with a fresh boost of support as Peerless Products Manufacturing Corporation (PPMC), the company behind Champion Detergent, joins the Fighting Maroons family as an official sponsor.
Champion, the flagship brand of PPMC and a staple amongst Filipino households with products that include laundry detergent, fabric conditioner, and dishwashing liquid, has been trusted by generations of Filipinos for its reliability and ability to rise to everyday challenges, qualities that resonate with the UP Fighting Maroons own journey in the UAAP.

“More than the wins, what excites us at Champion is being part of the incredible story of this team and this community,” said PPMC marketing director Caloy Bacani on behalf of company CEO and president Simeon Tiu.
“In recent years, UP Men’s Basketball Team has rightfully taken on the challenge of rising to become one of the very best—if not the best— teams in the UAAP. You’ve done so by embodying principles that deeply resonate with us at Peerless Products: a passion for excellence, a strong sense of ownership, and a deep commitment to people and community connection,” he added.
NowheretogobutUP Foundation Chairman Jed Eva expressed his appreciation for the new partnership, noting that Champion’s entry is a huge boost to the program.

“Champion’s entry as a partner of the UP Men’s Basketball Team is a big win not just for the team but also for the entire UP community. It shows how trusted Filipino brands continue to believe in our program and the values we stand for. We are hoping this is the start of a long-term partnership between Champion, the UP Fighting Maroons, and nowheretogobutUP Foundation.”
“Their support strengthens UPMBT’s program and motivates our players to push themselves even further. I think it’s fitting to have Champion as one of our sponsors this season as we are looking to be back-to-back champions this UAAP Season 88,” Eva concluded.
