In the wake of the recent earthquake that struck Cebu, the Philippine Red Cross (PRC) Cebu Blood Center is sending urgently needed blood units to the Cebu Provincial Hospital in Bogo.
PRC Chairman Dick Gordon assured the public of the organization’s readiness to provide support, especially in times of crisis.
“Sa ganitong panahon ng sakuna, sisiguraduhin ng Red Cross na walang pasyenteng mapapabayaan.”
“The PRC always predict, plan, prepare, and practice. Mahalaga na may mabilis at madaling access sa dugo ang ating mga kababayan. Sa ganitong panahon ng sakuna, sisiguraduhin ng Red Cross na walang pasyenteng mapapabayaan,” Gordon stressed.
The blood mobilization aims to support patients who may require transfusions as a result of injuries and other medical emergencies brought about by the earthquake.
“We have provided lifesaving blood supply to the Cebu Provincial Hospital. We predicted that there will be an increase of patients, and that patients in urgent need of transfusions will not be left without hope,” the PRC chief said.
This action highlights PRC’s swift response and its commitment to stand in solidarity with communities affected by disasters.
“In times of disaster, our mission is clear: to save lives, to bring comfort, and to assure our people that they are never alone.”
“I have always believed that the Red Cross must be where the need is greatest. In times of disaster, our mission is clear: to save lives, to bring comfort, and to assure our people that they are never alone,” he said.
“To the people of Bogo: we are with you. Help is on the way,” Gordon concluded.
