Negros Occidental Governor Bong Lacson welcomed all delegates and guests to the opening ceremony of the Visayas Leg of Handa Pilipinas sa Bagong Pilipinas: Innovations in Climate and Disaster Resilience National Exposition 2025.
The event was hosted by the Department of Science and Technology headed by Secretary Renato Solidum.
It was held at the SMX Convention Center in Bacolod City.
Lacson said event serves as a vital platform for collaboration and innovation in protecting lives, livelihoods, and the environment from growing natural and human-induced threats.
“The province continues to enhance recovery plans to help affected communities rebuild stronger.”
The governor also shared that the province has implemented systems such as the Digitized Emergency Management System, 24-hour 911 Hotline, One Hospital Command, UAV drones for risk assessment, barangay-level early warning networks, and community-based training programs, and continues to enhance recovery plans to help affected communities rebuild stronger.
Part of the program was the ceremonial turnover of the Handa Pilipinas Guidebook and the formal opening of the exhibits.
