DOT, OPPO PARTNER FOR TOURIST MOBILITY SOLUTIONS

The Department of Tourism (DOT) and Millennial Zeal Technology Corporation (MZTC), the official distributor of OPPO Philippines, inked partnership to ensure that tourism remains a meaningful tool for nation-building, in line with President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. administration’s vision.

“Through this partnership, we are gifted with cutting-edge technology and Internet of Things (IoT), and we can keep the public informed on all the Department’s advocacies, initiatives, and programs, while empowering our teams in carrying out our mandate,” Tourism Secretary Christina Garcia Frasco said.

With OPPO technology in the 12 Tourist Rest Areas nationwide, this project aims to add to the convenience and safety that the DOT already offers, making travel easier for tourists.

This partnership also seeks to transform Tourism Information Desks into a one-stop shop for real-time information, providing on-the-ground guidance and immediate assistance with OPPO’s IoT.

Frasco also emphasized that the Philippine Experience Program (PEP), DOT’s flagship initiative, can expand further across regions through OPPO’s cross-platform promotion via its market-store initiatives, while Hop-On-Hop-Off Tours can be modernized with OPPO’s innovative urban mobility solutions for visitors.

Witnessing the ceremonial signing were DOT Undersecretaries Shahlimar Hofer Tamano, Ferdinand Jumapao, and Maria Rica Bueno, and Assistant Secretaries Ina Zara-Loyola, Christine Joy Cari, Judilyn Quiachon, and Ronald Conopio.

OPPO executives present during the event included Chief Executive Officer Damon Huang, Chief Operating Officer Leo Li, Marketing Director Kefan Yu, Community Head Mara Villaflor, IMC Managers Gab Espedido and Bam Cue, Creatives Manager Kevin Francisco, and Content Producer Marivic Mendoza.
