Manila Mayor Francisco “Isko Moreno” Domagoso said the offer made by President Ferdinand Marcos, Jr. to make him the country’s housing czar was just a joke and that he intends to finish his term as city mayor.
“Joke lang niya ‘yon pero we’ll be happy to share the idea of horizontal housing which nakita niya sa Baseco or vertical housing which is ‘yun mga nabanggit natin,” Domagoso said.
Marcos recently said during the inauguration and turn-over ceremony of the 20-storey San Lazaro Residences that the national government should learn from Domagoso, and that he should handle the country’s housing projects.
“Ikaw na mag-in charge doon para magawa ‘yan.”
“Kailangan magpaturo kami sa inyo paano ginagawa ‘yan… Ikaw na mag-in charge doon para magawa ‘yan,” the President said.
Winning his second term as the Mayor of the Capital City of the country, Domagoso promised the people of the City of Manila that he will finish his three terms to bring back its glory and continue projects that would benefit more people.
“I’d rather stay in Manila for the next 10 years, if given a chance by the people.”
“I’ve committed to the people. That is the wish of political analysts. It is only their wish. But I think I’d rather stay in Manila for the next 10 years, if given a chance by the people,” he said during his interview with ANC last May 2025.
The San Lazaro Residences is a 20-storey in-city vertical housing condominium that features 382 residential units.
Each unit has two bedrooms and one bathroom, with kitchen, living and dining areas.
