SAMAR GOV’T TO EMPOWER SAMAR LEARNERS, YOUTH

The Provincial Government of Samar, together with the three DepEd Schools Division Offices (Samar, Calbayog City, and Catbalogan City), Samar State University (SSU), and Northwest Samar State University (NwSSU), formally entered into a Memorandum of Agreement (MOA) to reinforce collaborative programs aimed at empowering Samarnon learners and youth.

The event marks the launch of two key initiatives: the Career Development Support Program and the Sports Development Program, both designed to open wider opportunities for students, enrich their skills, and strengthen support mechanisms across schools in the province.

Governor Sharee Ann Tan emphasized that the partnership reflects the province’s long-standing commitment to uplifting education and youth development.

As part of the ceremony, the province also formally turned over ₱300,000 in support of the 13 winners of the Samar Province Cultural Education Curriculum, recognizing their achievements and encouraging the continued promotion of local culture and heritage in schools.

The Provincial Government and DepEd completed the turnover of 200 Robotics Kits to 39 schools.

The kits are expected to enhance classroom instruction, spark creativity, and inspire young learners to pursue careers in science and technology.

The endeavor is a testament to the continued commitment of the provincial governors in enhancing the education system and providing a future-ready environment to Samarnons who are culturally grounded and holistically developed.
