Senator Bong Go dispatched his team to extend additional aid to displaced workers in Carcar City, Cebu.
Held at Barangay Perrelos Gym in the city, 480 displaced workers received shirts, pens, fans, and balls from Go’s team.
To strengthen worker protection nationwide, the veteran legislator filed Senate Bill No. 177.
Under the proposed measure, the Rural Employment Assistance Program (REAP) would be established to provide temporary employment opportunities to qualified individuals affected by economic hardship, poverty, displacement, or seasonal unemployment.
Furthermore, through the national government, the qualified beneficiaries received short-term employment assistance after completing ten days of work.
