Laguna Governor Sol Aragones visited San Pablo District Hospital bringing medicines and free IV fluids to support patient care.
Aragones was joined by Dr. Odilon Inoncillo, Officer in Charge of the Provincial Health Office.
Stressing the importance of basic provisions, the lady governor said, “Importante talaga sakin ‘yung basic meron kayo,” referring to the medicines and free IV fluids she personally brought to the hospital.
She also conducted a walk through inspection of the facility and immediately identified safety hazards, including damaged hallway flooring.
“Ang gusto ko Doc, may nakatutok na sa CR na maglilinis.”
“Delikado ‘yan oh, kailangan to palitan ng rubber matting. At ang gusto ko Doc, may nakatutok na sa CR na maglilinis,” Aragones said, as she ordered the rehabilitation of the aging hospital building.
The Provincial Engineering Office, led by Engineer Gil Agarri, was tasked to assist in the rehabilitation, particularly addressing worn-out flooring, broken restroom doors, and sanitation concerns.
Upon seeing an old and nearly unusable wheelchair, she directed its immediate replacement.
“Kailangan magpadala tayo ng wheelchair dito. Pagpahingahin na natin itong wheelchair na ito. Ipadala na ang bagong wheelchair bukas na bukas din,” Aragones said.
She also ordered improvements to the nurses’ counters and medicine storage areas.
“’Yung pondo gagalawin natin ‘yan para talaga magamit natin.”
Emphasizing swift action, Aragones added, “Mahalaga nakita natin anong kulang, anong kailangan ayusin. Kasi may pondo naman tayo. Yung pondo gagalawin natin ‘yan para talaga magamit natin. ‘Yung rehab na ‘yan kailangan pasimulan agad natin.”
To cap the visit, she shared a simple yet meaningful gesture of appreciation by providing free lunch to the hospital’s health workers, recognizing their dedication and hard work.
The on-site office and immediate directives highlighted the provincial government’s commitment to responsive governance and the continued improvement of public healthcare facilities across Laguna.
