The best way for the Liberal Party (LP) to prepare for the 2028 elections is to focus on the performance of its elected officials, Senator Kiko Pangilinan said during LP’s celebration for its 80th founding anniversary at the Bantayog Ng Mga Bayani.
Pangilinan underscored the importance for LP members to remain true to their mandate as the party increases its membership and reaches out to its traditional allies.
“Ang tinitingnan ko lang 2026. Yung 2028 will take care of itself.”
Yung 2028 will take care of itself,” the veteran legislator said.
“As far as the LP is concerned, we just need to strengthen our ranks, continue with our organizing, our recruitment of members, and of course, strengthening our linkages with our allies,” the seasoned lawmaker added.
The senator is referring to Akbayan Partylist and Kilusan ng Nagkakaisang Pilipino (KNP), which have partnered with them during the 2022 and 2025 elections.
“So, we just continue with our work.
While LP’s focus is to strengthen its ranks, he also emphasized the need to unite behind key issues such as China’s continuous aggression in the West Philippine Sea.
