The Energy Regulatory Commission (ERC) and the Pasig City Local Government Unit (LGU) signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) to formalize their partnership in the development and implementation of a workplace-based Drug Abuse Prevention Program.
During his brief message at the signing ceremony held at the temporary Pasig City Hall, ERC Chairperson and CEO Atty. Francis Saturnino Juan expressed his gratitude to the Pasig City LGU for welcoming the opportunity to collaborate in advancing a drug-free workplace for the benefit of the Commission and the people it serves.
“Through this collaboration, we affirm that a drug-free workplace is not only a matter of compliance but also a cornerstone of responsible governance, employee welfare, and public service excellence.”
“Our goal is to promote a safe, healthy, and productive workplace for all ERC employees. Through this collaboration, we affirm that a drug-free workplace is not only a matter of compliance but also a cornerstone of responsible governance, employee welfare, and public service excellence,” the ERC chief said.
Pasig City Mayor Vico Sotto also welcomed the collaboration and expressed support for the ERC’s push to promote a safe, healthy, and drug-free community.
“It is important that our approaches and interventions continue to evolve so we can reduce the adverse effects of illegal drugs.”
“We all know that illegal drugs are a seemingly endless problem. That is why it is important that our approaches and interventions continue to evolve so we can reduce the adverse effects of illegal drugs,” Sotto said in Filipino.
The MOU outlines key areas of collaboration between ERC and the Pasig City LGU, including Pasig City Anti-Drug Abuse Office’s (PCADAO) provision of technical assistance to the ERC Drug-Free Workplace Committee in the development and implementation of ERC’s Drug Abuse Prevention Program (DAPP), along with the provision of information, education, and communication (IEC) materials on drug abuse prevention.
Through this partnership, the ERC underscores its commitment to strengthening preventive education and ensuring that its policies and programs are aligned with national laws and best practices.
