Motivated by the number of patients, caregivers, and healthcare workers who have benefited from his hospital feeding efforts, Senator Bong Go continued the initiative of bringing warm meals to various public hospitals and community facilities across the country.
What began as a simple attempt to help those spending long hours in hospitals has grown into a sustained effort that responds to real, everyday needs in healthcare settings.
In Metro Manila, feeding activities were carried out at the Philippine Orthopedic Center, National Children’s Hospital, Quirino Memorial Medical Center, all in Quezon City; and Amang Rodriguez Memorial Medical Center in Marikina City.
In other parts of Luzon, the initiative reached several provinces.
In Bulacan, meals were distributed at Bulacan Medical Center in Malolos City, Rogaciano Mercado Memorial Hospital in Santa Maria, and Joni Villanueva General Hospital in Bocaue.
In Bataan, feeding activities were conducted at Bataan General Hospital in Balanga City and Mariveles Mental Wellness and General Hospital.
The program also covered Rafael Lazatin Memorial Medical Center in Angeles City and Overseas Filipino Workers (OFW) Hospital in San Fernando City, both in Pampanga; and Tarlac Provincial Hospital in Tarlac City.
In Visayas, the feeding initiative reached Barangay Balagtas, Matag-ob, Leyte, where meals were distributed at Balagtas Elementary School, benefiting community members in the area.
In Mindanao, the program once again continued at the Southern Philippines Medical Center (SPMC) in Davao City, one of the country’s largest public hospitals and a regular site of Senator Go’s health-related outreach efforts.
Go shared that seeing how many people have been helped over time continues to motivate him to sustain the initiative.
“Kapag nakikita natin kung gaano karami ang natutulungan—mga pasyente, bantay, at health workers—mas lalo tayong na-e-engganyong ipagpatuloy ito.”
“Kapag nakikita natin kung gaano karami ang natutulungan—mga pasyente, bantay, at health workers—mas lalo tayong na-e-engganyong ipagpatuloy ito. Hangga’t kaya, tutulong tayo sa abot ng ating makakaya,” the veteran legislator said.
The feeding initiative complements the presence of Malasakit Centers in many government hospitals, which streamline access to medical assistance for indigent patients by bringing together key government agencies under one roof.
While Malasakit Centers focus on easing hospital expenses, the feeding activities address immediate daily needs.
While Malasakit Centers focus on easing hospital expenses, the feeding activities address immediate daily needs, particularly for those who remain inside hospital premises for long periods.
Through these continuing efforts, the seasoned lawmaker’s office maintains its focus on practical, on-the-ground support—providing simple assistance that helps make difficult days in hospitals a little more manageable.
