Artistang Artlets’ Season 45 Juniors’ Theater Literacy Program: OKATOKAT

A mug, a broom, a rug, and … a table for two? How could this be possible when Dina, a 24-year old ill-tempered woman, is living alone in her apartment?

This setting of Artistang Artlets’ Season 45 Juniors’ Theater Literacy Program: OKATOKAT, immediately greets the audience with mystery and curiosity. Written by Rio Arguelles, directed by J-rhic Noviza Tanghal, and managed by Alyssa Mae Esmeria, the portrayal of a visual contradiction urges theater enthusiasts to leave room for assumptions and pique their interests to watch the show and conclude whether or not they expected right from the production.

Here are some of the production’s traits that will have you wanting more:

  1. Arena Staging

Artistang Artlets makes use of an arena-type of staging in OKATOKAT, and they are the first ever theater organization in the University of Santo Tomas to do so in recent years. Witness how efficient blockings and positioning of elements take place despite the challenge of performing in an open stage. Experience first hand how lines, emotions, and silence resonate within the whole venue to each and every audience.

  1. Filipino Humor

“Kapeku o reskape?” Artistang Artlets’ OKATOKAT generously incorporates Filipino comedic references that will have the audience relate through laughter, pain, and kilig. Watch the characters banter with each other and connect with people through witty lines and remarks that will surely stick with anyone. Leave the venue while the characters’ lines replay in your head, or you may also share this with your fellow audience members to have a good laugh!

  1. Ano ang kwentong multo mo?

Artistang Artlets’ OKATOKAT also urges the audience to reflect from their own experiences and stories that define their kwentong multo. This theatrical production surpasses the definition of a ghost characterized by a white sheet and a gloomy hum. Rather, it may pertain to the unsaid feelings, shattering cries, and unknown truths of one individual.

Witness these traits come to life on OKATOKAT’s scheduled showdates–on March 7, 2026 with the time slots, 12:00NN, 2:00PM, 4:00PM and 6:00PM at the Tan Yan Kee Bldg., Audio Visual Room (AVR), 4th floor at the University of Santo Tomas. Catch Dina, along with Madam Lulu and Angelo, realize their ghost stories, and maybe then, you will also realize yours. Together, let’s answer the question: Ano ang kwentong multo mo?
