Education Secretary Sonny Angara led the Ceremonial Oath-Taking of 2,649 teachers from Davao Region at the Nabunturan National Comprehensive High School in Davao de Oro to mark their promotion under the Expanded Career Progression (ECP) program.
“Sa pangunguna ni Pangulong Bongbong Marcos, katuwang ang Kongreso, kinikilala natin ang sakripisyo at walang sawang dedikasyon ng ating mga guro at school heads sa pagsusulong ng dekalidad na edukasyon sa ating bansa—kaya’t prayoridad natin ang pagpapatupad ng Expanded Career Progression sa ating bansa,” Angara said.
“We must ensure that the very foundation of education remains strong.”

Of the 2,649 teachers promoted, 456 are from Davao Oriental, 391 from Davao del Norte, 358 from Panabo City, 344 from Davao de Oro, 283 from Island Garden City of Samal (IGACOS), 237 from Mati City, 195 from Digos City, 172 from Davao City, 123 from Davao del Sur, 69 from Tagum City, and 21 from Davao Occidental.
According to DepEd, this oath-taking – together with previous ceremonies – is part of the goal to promote 100,000 teachers for the fiscal year.
It also demonstrates the reinforcement of the education workforce system which is one of the top priorities under the Five-Point Reform Agenda.
Joining Angara and members of the Executive Committee in the program are Davao de Oro 1st District Representative Marica Carmen Zamora-Mabanglo, Governor Raul Mabanglo, and 2nd District Representative Leonel Ceniza.
After the ceremony, the education chief led the blessing of the new Schools Division Office (SDO) Davao de Oro facility—a step showing the continuous effort of DepEd to widen opportunities for teachers’ career growth while improving the working environment of its personnel.
“Patuloy na nagkakaisa at nagtutulungan ang ating field offices at local government units upang matiyak na mabibigyan ng sapat at makabuluhang suporta ang ating mga guro at mag-aaral.”
“Nagpapasalamat tayo dahil malinaw nating nakikita ang matibay na suporta ng ating mga education champions dito sa Davao Region, at patuloy na nagkakaisa at nagtutulungan ang ating field offices at local government units upang matiyak na mabibigyan ng sapat at makabuluhang suporta ang ating mga guro at mag-aaral,” Angara said.
The new building will house 7,615 teaching personnel and 739 non-teaching personnel who are working together to support 204,682 students from 456 schools in the province.
