IEshikawa 20 — ATRIA by UP CIEM Brings Together 500 Participants from 31 Universities Nationwide

The University of the Philippines Circle of Industrial Engineering Majors (UP CIEM) successfully concluded IEshikawa 20 — ATRIA: The Industrial Pulse of Systems, held on February 27–28, bringing together nearly 500 participants from 31 universities nationwide for two days of learning sessions, competitions, and industry engagement.

The first day featured activities aimed at providing professional insights and fostering connections among participants. IElevate: Workshop for Future Industrial Engineers introduced key perspectives on the role of industrial engineers, while IEmerge: Inter-SHS Case Competition gathered senior high school teams to analyze and present solutions to real-world case problems. Participants also explored career opportunities during IEngage: Career Expo, which hosted booths from industry partners including A.P. Moller – Maersk, Ask Lex PH Academy, Seven Seven Global Services Inc., Philippine Batteries Inc., Civic Merchandising Inc., Board of Investments Philippines, Maxicare Healthcare Corporation, UP Diliman Department of Industrial Engineering and Operations Research, Bea Bakes, and Microcadd Institute Inc.. The day also included IEnsight: Industry Talk, which provided insights from industry professionals, and concluded with IExperience: Ambassador Program Mixer, where student ambassadors from participating universities engaged in networking and collaboration.

The second day highlighted participants’ analytical and problem-solving capabilities through a series of national competitions. IExcel: Quiz Bee Competition tested participants’ knowledge across industrial engineering concepts, while IEnnovate: Design Sprint Hackathon challenged teams to develop innovative solutions within a limited timeframe. IExplore: Case Study Competition further assessed participants’ ability to analyze complex scenarios and present strategic recommendations. 

The event concluded with Gala Night, where winners of the competitions were formally recognized and awarded cash prizes and vouchers made possible through the generous support of the event’s sponsors. The Case Study Competition, sponsored by A.P. Moller – Maersk, awarded cash prizes to the winning teams. Meanwhile, the Design Sprint Hackathon and Quiz Bee Competitions, sponsored by Ask Lex PH Academy, granted cash prizes along with learning vouchers.
