The Province of Laguna officially secured land with 1,200 land area for the construction of a new Department of Justice Building, also known as the Katarungan Center, through the ceremonial signing of the Deed of Usufruct.
The milestone signing was attended by Governor Sol Aragones, Vice Governor JM Carait, Justice Secretary Fredderick Vida, local officials, and community leaders.
Aragones emphasized the significance of the occasion, stating, “Ang araw na ito ay hinihintay din ng marami sa inyo, dahil matagal nating hinintay na maibigay sa probinsiya ng Laguna ang bahagi ng lupa sa Sta. Cruz para ito ay tuluyan nang mapakinabangan at malagyan ng istruktura na tatawagin nating Katarungan Center para pakinabangan po ng ating mga kababayan.”

Vida also expressed support for the initiative, underscoring the purpose of the new facility.

The highlight of the program was the signing of the Deed of Usufruct, officially granting the province the right to use the land for the justice center.
Carait’s presence was formally acknowledged, and select individuals were recognized with awards for their contributions.
The vice governor reaffirmed his support, emphasizing the partnership between national and local government units in delivering justice services efficiently to the people of Laguna.
The new Katarungan Center is expected to become a central hub for legal services, court proceedings, and other justice related functions, providing residents of Santa Cruz and neighboring towns with faster, more accessible access to the rule of law.
