BONG GO SENDS AID TO FIRE-HIT BATAAN FAMILIES

More than just emergency response, Senator Bong Go emphasized the need for stronger disaster readiness measures as his team delivered assistance to fire-hit families in Orani, Bataan.

Go stressed that government response should not end with relief distribution, but must also ensure that communities are better equipped to face future emergencies.

Central to this, the veteran legislator pointed to Republic Act No. 11589, or the Bureau of Fire Protection Modernization Act of 2021, which he principally authored and co-sponsored. The law seeks to strengthen fire response capabilities through increased personnel, modern equipment, and enhanced training over a 10-year period.

The seasoned lawmaker is also the principal author and co-sponsor of RA12076, or the Ligtas Pinoy Centers Act, which mandates the establishment of dedicated evacuation centers designed to withstand disasters, ensuring safer temporary shelters for affected communities.

“Ang buhay, hindi na maibabalik. A lost life is a lost life forever.”

A lost life is a lost life forever.”

His team gave grocery packs to four families affected by the recent fire.
