Residents of Cavinti, Laguna received free medical consultations and maintenance medicines as Governor Sol Aragones officially launched the “Doctor sa Barangay” program, bringing healthcare services directly to communities in the province with the help of local officials, health experts, and the provincial health team.
“Gagawin din po natin ito sa lahat ng barangay sa Laguna, iikutin po natin lahat,” Aragones said, as she assured residents that the program will be expanded across all barangays in the province to ensure wider access to healthcare services.
The program was conducted in partnership with Mayor Arrantlee Arroyo, the Laguna Health Team led by Dr. Eric Tayag, Laguna Health Consultant, along with healthcare workers, pharmacists, and the Provincial Health Office under Dr. Odilon Inoncillo.

Doctors were deployed directly to barangays to provide medical check-ups, while free maintenance medicines were distributed through the “Akay ni Gob Botika” and mobile botika initiative.
The project aims to support patients, especially those who struggle with transportation costs and limited access to health facilities.
Through this initiative, essential medicines and consultations are brought closer to the people, reducing the burden of travel and medical expenses.
One of the highlights of the event was a patient who even celebrated their birthday during the first day of the program, making the outreach more meaningful for the community.
“Malaking malaking tulong po ito lalo na po sa amin na malayo at hirap din po sa pamasahe.”
“Malaking malaking tulong po ito lalo na po sa amin na malayo at hirap din po sa pamasahe, maraming salamat po Gob,” said one of the patients, expressing gratitude for the free healthcare services and medicines provided.
The “Doctor sa Barangay” program is expected to continue rolling out across Laguna, with more barangays set to benefit in the coming weeks.
Provincial officials emphasized that the initiative is part of a long term commitment to strengthen primary healthcare delivery and ensure that no resident is left without access to basic medical services.
With the combined efforts of the provincial government, health professionals, and local leaders, the program is seen as a significant step toward a more accessible and community centered healthcare system in Laguna.
