LAGUNA GOV’T TO LAUNCH MEAT PROCESSING PROGRAM

A new livelihood opportunity is set to empower residents of Laguna as the Provincial Government prepares to roll out a meat processing program that provides both training and seed capital to aspiring entrepreneurs this coming July 2026.

The initiative, spearheaded by Governor Sol Aragones, aims to help Lagunenses start small-scale businesses without the burden of initial capital, particularly in producing high demand food products such as longganisa, tocino, and embutido.

“Hindi na po kayo ang mamumuhunan.”

“Hindi na po kayo ang mamumuhunan. Ang Probinsya ng Laguna ang magbibigay ng munting puhunan para sa inyo, para sa meat processing,” Aragones said, emphasizing the government’s direct support for community-based livelihood.

Through the program, beneficiaries will undergo proper training on meat processing techniques, enabling them to produce goods that are market ready and easy to sell outside their homes or within their communities.

The provincial government sees this as a practical and sustainable source of income for families across Laguna.

The program will be implemented in batches due to current budget limitations, but the provincial government assured the public that efforts are underway to ensure its continuous expansion and long-term implementation.

“Pero huwag po kayong mag-alala, gagawa po tayo ng paraan para tuloy-tuloy na ang proyektong ito.”

“Pero huwag po kayong mag-alala, gagawa po tayo ng paraan para tuloy-tuloy na ang proyektong ito,” the lady governor added.

She also addressed criticism she has received, reaffirming her commitment to public service and community development.

“Sa aking mga basher na ginagawa akong pulutan sa araw-araw, payo ko lang ha, mapapagod lang kayo sa akin. Dahil hindi ako susuko sa paghahanap ng paraan para tulungan ang taong-bayan,” Aragones said.

The Provincial Government of Laguna is expected to release full program details and application guidelines through her official Facebook page in the coming weeks.
