The Games and Amusements Board (GAB), led by Chairman Atty. Francisco Rivera, together with Commissioner Angel Bautista and officials from the Boxing and Other Contact Sports (BOCS) Division, welcomed the Philippine Boxing Federation (PBF) delegation during a courtesy visit at the GAB Central Office.
The meeting focused on the PBF’s intention to become one of the country’s recognized professional boxing organizations under GAB’s regulation and supervision.
It also served as a venue for consultation, presentation of development plans, and guidance on the accreditation process.
“PBF’s initiative aligns with GAB’s long‑term vision.”
Rivera expressed his gratitude for the opportunity to meet with PBF officials, underscoring that their initiative aligns with GAB’s long‐term vision to:
- Encourage private sector participation in professional sports
- Strengthen organizational support for boxing development; and
- Safeguard the welfare of Filipino athletes and sports practitioners
He also assured immediate action on the federation’s application.
“On our part, we will immediately act on theapplication and recognition of the Philippine BoxingFederation (PBF) as a professional boxing organization,” Rivera stressed.
