MAYOR ISKO: DIMASALANG BRIDGE CLOSED FOR REPAIR

The Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) has closed the northbound lane of Dimasalang Bridge along Dimasalang Street in Sampaloc, Manila starting May 23, 2026 for the second phase of its rehabilitation and major repair works.

This was announced by Manila City Mayor Francisco “Isko” Moreno Domagoso during his “Talk to the People” Facebook livestream.

In a letter, DPWH North Manila District Engineering Office District Engineer Dennis Sandoval formally informed the Mayor of the target commencement date.

Domagoso said the DPWH is eyeing to complete the rehabilitation by the second week of October 2026, ahead of Undas, when millions of visitors are expected to converge on the Manila North Cemetery.

The mayor noted that the southbound lane, which was the subject of the first phase, had already been completed on schedule—thanking DPWH for keeping its commitment to the city.

“Natapos na po at natutuwa naman ako. Salamat sa DPWH, tinupad nila ‘yung takdang araw,” he noted.

Motorists are advised to watch for the full traffic rerouting plan, which the city government will publish on its official social media platforms.
