EVARDONE LAUNCHES EGOV KIOSK IN EASTERN SAMAR

The Department of Information and Communications Technology (DICT) Region 8 and the provincial government of Eastern Samar officially launched the eGov Kiosk and Digital Transformation Center (DTC) during the “Launching of ICT Projects” held at the Provincial Capitol Gym.

The activity gathered national, regional, provincial, and municipal officials, barangay leaders, teachers, provincial Capitol employees, and other stakeholders in support of the government’s continuing digitalization efforts.

Prior to the ceremonial launch, participants attended orientation sessions on the eGovPH App, eGov Kiosk, and the Digital Transformation Center, highlighting the government’s initiatives to improve public access to services through digital platforms.

“Eastern Samar is currently the only province in Eastern Visayas with an operational eGov Kiosk established through the support of the provincial government.”

Eastern Samar Governor RV Evardone emphasized the province’s commitment to innovation and efficient public service delivery through technology. The eGov Kiosk allows residents to conveniently access various government services through 49 interactive terminals hosting electronic services from 29 regional government agencies.

Borongan City has already been operating eGov kiosks at Borongan City Hall.

The Digital Transformation Center, meanwhile, aims to strengthen digital literacy and enhance the province’s digital capabilities. 

Supporting the initiative is the Tech4ED Digital Transformation Center Laptop Provision Project, through which DICT provided laptop units for training and learning activities.

The launch underscores the continuing partnership between DICT and the provincial government in advancing digital governance and expanding access to government services for Eastern Samaranons.
