The Metropolitan Manila Development Authority (MMDA) kicked off the Yes to Ayos Disiplina Campaign in Pasay City, strengthening student and community participation in fostering the culture of discipline in Metro Manila.
MMDA Chairman Don Artes led the pledge of commitment for the Yes to Ayos and emphasized the importance of instilling discipline in the younger generation for them to uphold it for posterity.
“We need to instill discipline from their childhood so they can grow up as responsible citizens,” Artes said during the Yes to Ayos launch held in Timoteo Paez Elementary School.
“There will be a future tie up with the Department of Education (DepEd) to create more programs for the students in connection with the campaign.”
The MMDA chief also stated that there will be a future tie up with the Department of Education (DepEd) to create more programs for the students in connection with the campaign, in accordance to the initiative of President Ferdinand Marcos, Jr. towards establishing a cleaner, more disciplined, and livable Metro Manila for all.
Meanwhile, MMDA General Manager Nicolas Torre III underscored the inclusion of students in the campaign as an important move as the agency believes that disciplined youths are the true hope of the nation.
Torre also cited that most of the problems faced by the agency are rooted by not having enough discipline specifically on proper and responsible waste management.
He also encouraged the parents to teach their children the proper way of throwing garbage and for the children to obey their parents.
Pasay City Mayor Imelda Calixto-Rubiano expressed her gratitude to the MMDA for bringing the campaign to the city because she believed that the campaign is not just about discipline but also responsibility.
“This is what we have always wanted for Pasay City, to be the first sustainable and eco-city,” Calixto-Rubiano said.
The lady mayor noted that the campaign is effective and simple to follow for the students.
Citing that the campaign brought the true spirit of the MMDA, Pasay City Congressman Antonino Calixto stated that Yes to Ayos will lead the community to be more excellent and disciplined as it is also the responsibility of the people to take care of the roads and communities.

John Paul Ang, Barangay 162 Chairperson, also prompted the residents towards a clean environment which could lead to a better life for every family in the community.

Yes sa 4Rs – Refuse, Reuse, Reduce, and Recycle 4. Yes sa hindi pagyoyosi at pagvi-vape 5. Yes sa tamang pagpila 6. Yes sa pagiging on-time 7. Yes sa pagiging magalang at ma-respeto 8. Yes sa munting basura, ibulsa 9. Yes sa hindi pagtapon ng basura sa lansangan 10. Yes sa pagiging handa sa emergency o kalamidad 11. Yes sa pagiging tapat 12. Yes sa pagmamahal sa kapwa 13. Yes sa pagiging malinis 14. Yes sa pag-aalaga sa kalikasan 15. Yes sa pagiging laging handa
Eco-TINGIndahan led by Mother Earth Foundation was also present in the event offering free rice, fish sauce, vinegar, and oil in exchange for any recyclable materials.
The MMDA’s MMRF’s Recyclables Mo, Palit Grocery Ko program is also in effect wherein the communities can get grocery items in exchange for any recyclable materials.
