DPWH OPENS FIRST OVERPASS IN GENERAL SANTOS CITY

After five years of delay, the Gensan Underpass in Barangay Mabuhay, General Santos City is finally open to motorists.

The project is expected to ease the flow of traffic in the SOCCSKSARGEN region.

Following the directive of President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. to fast track the completion of pending projects all over the country, Public Works and Highways Secretary Vince Dizon said opening the underpass will benefit motorists, commuters and residents.

It’s July 29, bubuksan na natin ’to finally, to traffic,” Dizon said during the formal opening of the project with General Santos City Mayor Lorelie Pacquiao.

He added that the frequent revisions delayed construction of the underpass.

It also resulted in additional expenses for the government.
