MAYOR ISKO CHECKS BASECO HOSPITAL MEDICAL EQPT

Manila Mayor Francisco “Isko” Moreno Domagoso personally inspected the newly delivered medical equipment at the Pres. Corazon Aquino General Hospital (Baseco Hospital), as the City Government continues to strengthen healthcare services for residents of Baseco.

The inspection coincided with the hospital’s first anniversary, with Domagoso checking the arrival and preparations for the installation of one X-ray machine, two laboratory refrigerators for samples, and two anesthesia machines.

Baseco is the only barangay in Manila with its own hospital, bringing essential healthcare services closer to residents and sparing them from having to travel farther for medical care.

Domagoso said the City Government remains focused on addressing the Minimum Basic Needs of Manileños, particularly housing, education, healthcare, and jobs. In the healthcare sector, he said the city is continuously investing not only in better facilities but also in additional medical equipment to improve the delivery of services.

Baseco Hospital Director Dr. Naomi Lachica Licuanan said the new equipment will further enhance the hospital’s medical services.

The City Electrician, led by Director Randy Sadac, and City Engineer Armando Andres are also working to facilitate the installation of the equipment.

Licuanan added that the X-ray machine will be installed once the necessary feeder line and electrical upgrade are completed. It will then undergo calibration and secure a Certificate of Calibration before the hospital proceeds with its application for Food and Drug Administration (FDA) accreditation.

Domagoso also thanked DivinaLaw Founder Atty. Nilo Divina for donating tables and chairs to the hospital, saying the assistance came at an appropriate time as Baseco Hospital marks its first anniversary.
