Senator Bong Go continued reaching communities affected by recent severe weather through successive relief distributions for typhoon-hit residents in Minalin and Sto. Tomas, Pampanga.
Relief activities took place in the two municipalities followed by another round of assistance the following day as Go’s Malasakit Team sustained its support for families recovering from the typhoon’s effects.
The activities in Minalin were coordinated with Mayor Philip Naguit where 750 beneficiaries were aided, while the distributions in Sto. Tomas were carried out in coordination with Mayor John Sambo, benefitting 750 families as well.
The veteran legislator’s Malasakit Team provided relief assistance and other essential items to affected residents as families continue recovering from disruptions brought by the typhoon.

The seasoned lawmaker has repeatedly stressed that communities hit by disasters need both immediate assistance and sustained government support, particularly when flooding, damaged livelihoods, and other effects continue even after the weather has improved.
The senator said local governments play an important role in identifying families that need help and ensuring that available assistance reaches them promptly.

He has also been pushing for stronger disaster preparedness and permanent evacuation infrastructure through Republic Act No. 12076, or the Ligtas Pinoy Centers Act, which he principally authored and co-sponsored.
The law mandates the establishment of evacuation centers designed to provide safer and more appropriate temporary shelter for communities during typhoons, floods, earthquakes, and other emergencies.
Go has likewise filed Senate Bill No. 173 seeking to establish a Department of Disaster Resilience to strengthen coordination and preparedness across government agencies.
He stressed that disaster response should extend beyond relief distribution. Go has continued advocating measures that can help affected families recover their livelihoods, access healthcare, and rebuild after calamities.
His Malasakit Team has conducted a series of assistance activities in recent weeks for typhoon victims and other vulnerable communities in Luzon and other parts of the country.
Go also urged families in flood-prone and disaster-prone areas to remain alert to advisories from local authorities and prioritize safety whenever severe weather threatens their communities.
