The Bureau of Customs (BOC) said it is seriously taking note of the statements made by Senator JV Ejercito regarding alleged illicit activities within the Bureau, particularly the incident involving the Highway Patrol Group (HPG), and commits to resolve the ongoing investigation at the soonest possible time.
It must be recalled that after the formal filing of the HPG against BOC personnel, Commissioner Ariel Nepomuceno had immediately ordered an internal investigation to review the allegations raised and determine the facts surrounding the issues presented.
“We will resolve this investigation at the soonest possible time and submit our findings to Senator Ejercito.”

“We assure the public that every credible allegation will be given due attention and that anyone found to have violated the law as may be established by evidence, will be dealt with in accordance with law,” he added.

Nepomuceno further emphasized that anyone found exploiting the BOC or violating the CMTA or other laws, will be held fully accountable and shall face the full force of the law.
