The House of Representatives approved the Office of the President’s (OP) proposed P10.15-billion budget for 2027 with Bataan 2nd District Representative Abet Garcia praising the agency’s sharp spending reduction and transparency measures.
Garcia, who sponsored the OP budget, said the proposed allocation is 64.02% lower than the 2026 budget and accounts for only 0.14% of the proposed P7.2-trillion national budget.
“This is an office that tightened its own belt before asking anything of our people,” the veteran legislator said.
“For the highest office of the land, this is a lean proposal.”

The OP delegation, led by Executive Secretary Ralph G. Recto on behalf of the President, were present in the plenary deliberations to support the budget sponsor.
The proposed OP budget was endorsed following the termination of plenary deliberations.
