Media and news purveyor NET25 has closely monitored a week in which the three government agencies found on most Filipino payslips, Pag-IBIG, PhilHealth and SSS, each made news on the NET25.com portal.
For the ordinary Filipino wage earners, deductions by these three agencies are the most regular transactions with government, taken out every payday before the money ever reaches the household. In short, what the agencies do with the contributions matters as much as the take-home pay itself.
The business and national stories on the NET25.com portal from October 6 to 13, 2026 show where each agency is headed.
On housing, Robinsons Land Corporation became the latest of the country’s leading developers to join Pag-IBIG Fund’s roster under the Expanded Pambansang Pabahay para sa Pilipino program, with the memorandum signed on October 5 in Pasig City.
The portal has followed the program since the loan cap was raised to Php 10 million in June 2026, through the SMDC and Filinvest partnerships in September and the first topping-off at JAB Residences in Dasmariñas City, Cavite in early October.
The terms of payment are the main point of interest for the prospective homebuyer. Promotional rates stand at 4.5 percent a year for loans up to Php 4.9 million and 5.75 percent for loans above that up to Php 10 million, both fixed for the first three years, with the offer running until the end of 2026.
Pag-IBIG Fund CEO Marilene C. Acosta explained that pairing affordable home prices with manageable monthly payments leaves room in the family budget for other needs and savings, while DHSUD Secretary and Pag-IBIG Chairman Jose Ramon P. Aliling noted that every developer that joins the agency’s growing pool of private companies gives Filipino families more options.
On health, PhilHealth Regional Office NCR signed an agreement with Bicol Isarog Transport System last October 9 to bring the Yaman ng Kalusugan Program, or YAKAP, to long-distance bus passengers through clips on in-bus screens, guides on seatback displays and information desks at terminals during Holy Week, All Souls’ Day and Christmas.
The program covers free primary checkups, diagnostic tests and essential maintenance medicines, at no added operational cost to the bus company. Dr. Bernadette C. Lico, vice president for NCR and Rizal, said the office is open to partnering with every bus line in the region.
On pensions, SSS President and CEO Robert Joseph Montes de Claro was appointed Secretary of the Department of Information and Communications Technology on October 13, replacing Henry Roel Aguda, with Malacañang crediting his SSS tenure with a three-year pension reform program and an emergency calamity loan program. The portal has yet to report who takes over at the pension fund.
Framing all of this is the Php 7.2 trillion national budget for 2027, which the House of Representatives passed on third and final reading on October 13.
The network makes a conscious effort to report the key three agencies not as mere bureaucracies but as the fulcrum of the Pinoy household’s own money at work. Which is why a loan rate, a terminal checkup desk and a change at the top of the pension fund belong on the same level of priority in the portal’s business page, thus becoming immensely useful for the salaried Filipino.
These stories are free to discover anytime, anywhere on the NET25.com portal and are carried on Mata ng Agila and “Open for Business” on Digital Free TV Channel 28 and Analog Free TV Channel 25 as well.
NET25’s commitment to the working Filipino continues through the presentation of business news that follows the worker’s contributions from the payslip to the home loan, the checkup and the pension.
