BENITEZ TO DBM, CHED: RELEASE TULONG DUNONG FUNDS

Bacolod Representative Albee Benitez raised concerns with the Commission on Higher Education (CHED) regarding delays in the payout of the Tulong Dunong Program.

Benitez stressed the impact these delays may have on students who depend on financial assistance to continue their studies.

“Our students cannot afford further delays,” the legislator said.

CHED explained that while the funds can be obligated, disbursement remains delayed due to the lack of available cash from the Department of Budget and Management (DBM).

“Behind every delay is a student who may struggle to stay in school.”

“I understand the process, but behind every delay is a student who may struggle to stay in school,” the lawmaker stressed.

He called for the timely release of funds from DBM and urged CHED to ensure that financial assistance reaches the intended student beneficiaries.

“DBM, we need the funds released.”

“Kaya patuloy tayong nagtatanong at sumusunod. DBM, we need the funds released. CHED, let’s get the assistance to our students,” Benitez stressed.

The Tulong Dunong Program is an aid to financially challenged but deserving students to stay enrolled in college.

For students relying on this program, timely financial assistance can make a difference in their ability to continue their education.
