FIRST PUBLIC HOSPITAL IN BOCAUE SOON – VILLANUEVA

Senator Joel Villanueva led the groundbreaking rites in his hometown of Bocaue, Bulacan for the construction of the Joaquin Villanueva Medical Center, an extension of the Jose B. Lingad Memorial Hospital located in San Fernando, Pampanga.

With a total lot area of 9,425 square meters, the Joaquin Villanueva Medical Center will be the first public hospital in Bocaue.

The entire lot was donated by the Villanueva family and named after the legislator’s grandfather who was a veteran of World War II and an Olympic sprinter who represented the country at the Far Eastern Games for four consecutive years in the 1920s.

The project cost is estimated at P250 million. The hospital will have a 50-bed capacity and can employ up to 150 medical and allied health professionals including jobs in administration, engineering, and housekeeping.

The Joaquin Villanueva Medical Center will be departmentalized and equipped with services in the specialties of medicine, pediatrics, obstetrics and gynecology, surgery, among others.

There will also be a provision for general intensive care unit (ICU) for critically-ill patients, tertiary clinical laboratory, and imaging facility and mobile x-ray within the center.

“We express our sincerest gratitude to the national government for supporting our advocacy in providing quality healthcare to our kababayans. For the longest time, the municipality did not have its own hospital,” Villanueva said.

“With the construction of the Joaquin Villanueva Medical Center, the people of Bocaue no longer have to endure the long lines at public hospitals in Malolos or Sta. Maria.”
