DPWH HELPS TRANSPORT DONATED TENTS TO LUNG CENTER – VILLAR

The Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) helped transport from Pampanga six (6) units of tents that will serve as temporary isolation units at the Lung Center of the Philippines and help prevent the spread of coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) in the country.

“DPWH Regional Office 3 delivered the tents to Lung Center in Diliman, Quezon City donated by the global humanitarian organization World Vision in 12 wooden crates from Clarkfield, Pampanga in an effort to aid the country’s response against COVID-19 virus”, announced DPWH Secretary Mark Villar.

Villar said that two (2) dump trucks, a stake truck with boom crane and a crew of engineers, heavy equipment operators and drivers from DPWH Pampanga First and Second District Engineering Offices were deployed without any “dilly-dallying” to facilitate the prompt delivery of items from Pampanga to Diliman, Quezon City.

“It is extremely heartwarming how the people are helping each other during the crisis.”

In his report to Villar, DPWH Region 3 Director Roseller Tolentino said that it was Bureau of Equipment (BOE) Director Noel Toribio Ilao who coordinated with DPWH Region 3 for the deployment of the equipment and manpower in response to the request of Dr. Gloanne Adolor of the Lung Center of the Philippines.

Villar commended the prompt action of the BOE and DPWH Region 3 Equipment Management Division as the country tries to contain the spread of COVID-19.
