ABANTE VOWS TO STILL SERVE MANILA’S 6TH DISTRICT

Manila 6th District Representative Benny Abante Jr. expressed his gratitude to barangay leaders who have publicly endorsed his reelection bid, saying their show of support was both humbling and inspiring.

“I am deeply moved by the trust and encouragement of our barangay captains,” Abante said.

“Leadership means lifting others up, not placing oneself above them.”

“To be recognized by those who serve on the frontlines is an honor—and a reminder that leadership means lifting others up, not placing oneself above them,” the veteran legislator added.

Barangay officials in the district recently cited Abante’s steady leadership and quiet work behind the scenes, particularly during the height of the COVID-19 pandemic.

Many pointed to his record of delivering aid without fanfare, and his consistent advocacy in Congress for pro-people legislation.

In response, the seasoned lawmaker said he would continue to serve with the same principles that have guided his public life.

“Tuloy-tuloy lang tayo sa pag-ABANTE sa buhay.”

“Maraming salamat, Distrito Sais! Isang karangalan na maging representante ninyo. Ang #SerbisyongWalangPinipilingPanahon ay hindi naka depende sa posisyon o titulo. Tuloy-tuloy lang tayo sa pag-ABANTE sa buhay. Mahal ko kayo!” he stressed.

“I will remain faithful—faithful to our God, and faithful to the people of the 6th District,” Abante said. “Galatians 5:13 tells us ‘By love serve one another.’ We are called to serve, not to be served. That is what I have always believed, and that is what I will continue to do.”

Abante, who chairs the House Committee on Human Rights, has long been known for championing causes rooted in faith and compassion—among them, the protection of senior citizens, the fight against illegal gambling, and the defense of human rights.
